There are times when commissioning or purchasing a couture dress is exactly the right choice. But there are also occasions when a dancer wants something different, a new colour, a different silhouette, a particular character for a particular competition, or simply the freedom to experiment.
That is why DSI London offers a carefully selected collection of ladies' Ballroom and Latin dresses for hire.
The collection includes selected DSI stock dresses together with selected dresses previously worn by DSI Elite Performers, offering another way to experience DSI London performance couture without the commitment of purchasing the dress.
But for us, Dress Hire is about more than practicality.
It is about finding the look that makes you feel right.
A Different Look for a Different Moment
Every competition is different.
The venue changes. The atmosphere changes. Your dancing develops. And sometimes you simply want to present a different version of yourself.
Perhaps you normally dance in red but wonder how you would feel in black. Perhaps you want something more dramatic for one event and more refined for another. Or perhaps a silhouette you have never considered before turns out to suit you perfectly.
Hiring gives you the freedom to explore those possibilities.
It can also make particular sense for younger adult dancers who may still be growing or changing physically. Investing in a dress that may no longer fit in a year's time is not always the right answer. A carefully chosen hire dress offers another possibility.
And because the financial commitment is considerably lower than purchasing a couture dress, experimenting becomes much easier.
The objective is not to find a cheaper version of what you really want.

Visit us at DSI London, explore the dresses currently available and try them on.
A dress can look beautiful in a photograph and completely different once it is on your body. Colour, proportion and silhouette need to work with you. Most importantly, you need to know how you feel wearing it.
Sometimes the answer is immediate.
You put on a dress, look in the mirror and simply know:
This feels right.
If the dress is available for your required period, you can arrange the hire with us and take it away.
Find Us at Competitions Too
You do not necessarily need to travel to our London home.
DSI London attends the major UK DanceSport events throughout the year, and our exhibition stands provide another opportunity to see, try and arrange the hire of available dresses.
In fact, many of our dress hires already begin this way.
You may see a dress at an event, try it on and discover that it creates exactly the performance image you were looking for.
For dancers unable to visit us personally, dresses can also be sent by arrangement. Emma will discuss the appropriate options with you.
Personal Service from Emma
Dress Hire is not an anonymous online transaction.
Our website allows you to explore the current collection, but once a particular dress catches your attention, Emma will personally help you with the next stage.
She can discuss the dress, its availability and the period for which you would like to hire it, as well as help you consider the options most appropriate for you.
Hire prices vary according to the individual dress and the length of hire, with a minimum hire period of two weeks.
The aim is simple: to make choosing a dress enjoyable, personal and straightforward.

Some of the dresses in our hire collection have already appeared on prestigious competition floors. Others form part of DSI London's wider stock collection.
