Here at DSI we are absolutely thrilled to be able to provide all the dresses for the show - and thought you might enjoy knowing a little more about us.
So let's start with the real creative genius, the name behind the design of every single one of those amazing creations seen on Saturday evening, Costume Designer Vicky Gill.
What first captured your interest in costume design?
My mum is a very talented lady who used to make me feel extra special as a child by making me some wonderful clothes. We used to go and buy fabric on a Friday and by the Saturday I had a new frock. I've loved dance and performance for as long as I can remember so combining the two is my idea of heaven!
Who did you design your first Strictly dress for?
I remember it clearly! It was a waltz dress for Erin. DSI's first frock on national TV.
The best and worst aspects of designing for Strictly?
I really can't think of any downside, it's all good fun even when the clock tells you that you really should be curled up in bed sleeping! As you can imagine there are so many wonderful moments that it's impossible to pick out just one.
What's the favourite dress you've designed and why?
Again there have been so many, Kara in last year's series was the most consistent in terms of both looks and performance so she probably has quite a few of my favourite frocks. In 2009, when Darcey Bussell appeared on the show it was a real privilege to design for her.
